As co-founder of AFAR, Joe passionately believes that experiential travel is the best form of education and the more people embrace travel with an open-mind, the better our world will be.
Joe is an accomplished speaker and frequently lends his expertise on a variety of topics, including the power of experiential travel, travel trends, startups, growing a company, innovation through digital media, and more. In addition, he regularly appears on shows, such as TODAY, CNN International, Good Morning America, CBS News “Up to the Minute,” as well as Wake Up With Al to comment on trends and breaking news within the travel and tourism industry. Joe is also a moderator for AFAR Conversations, a unique series of conversations that brings leaders in various fields together for discussions on ideas and topics that can have a positive impact on our world.
He hosted AFAR Matters at PURE Life Experiences and has spoken at a variety of prestigious conferences and events, including: the Travel Leaders National Sales Summit, the Moleskine Salon, Young Travel Professionals, Leading Hotels of the World Global Summit, Tourism Australia National Summit, Charleston Area CVB Annual Meeting, and NYTravFest, Joe has also participated in numerous panel conversations, such as: the NYU Publishing Summit, and Social Media Week.
He is a graduate of Duke University and holds a BA in History, as well as a MA in Education from Arizona State.
